Happy October!

Dear Walnut Ridge Families,

This is the Walnut Ridge School Blog, where we are planning to post updates weekly to assist our families in staying informed of our school and district events. You will continue to receive Friday School emails with pertinent issues, but most of our school reminders will be placed on this blog.

Parent-Teacher Conferences: The week of October 16-20 will be half days for conferences. Click here for more information and to register.

District Wide SCA Spirit Day: Friday 10/20  Suggested $1 Donation to support The Giving Tree!! Send in $1 in an envelope marked SCA or DONATE ONLINE.  of The Giving Tree Donations are equally distributed anonymously to Vernon student families in need in the form of gift cards distributed around the winter holidays.   • It’s Apple Picking Season! Support a Local Business and your Vernon Twp School SCA! $46 includes a 1/2 bushel (20lb) bag of apples, 6 cider donuts, a 1/2 gallon of apple cider, and a $10 donation to your Vernon Twp School SCA! Certificates are available for purchase at www.tinyurl.com/vernonscaapplepicking until 9/30 and must be redeemed by 10/31. This fundraiser is available to ANYONE TO ORDER – you don’t need to have a VTSD student! Order more than one – give a certificate to friends, family, neighbors! Apple Picking Certificate(s) will be sent home with the STUDENT YOU NAME ON YOUR ORDER within 5 business days of ordering – if you do not have a VTSD student, we will contact you to make arrangements for pickup. Pochuck Valley Farms is located at 962 McAfee Glenwood Rd, Glenwood, NJ 07418.

Name Bubbles – Rolling Fundraiser

  • The #1 request from CM & WR teachers is to label your child’s items (coats, gloves, hats, backpacks, water bottles, lunch boxes, reusable snack bags, etc.) to avoid mix ups as at these ages or not getting back things left behind.

The Giving Tree: an SCA program where we accept donations for local Vernon families who could use a little help around the holidays. We ask our community for donations, no matter how big or small, to help make the season a little brighter for our neighbors. Thanks to your generosity we raised enough money to help 71 Vernon Children for the 2022 Holidays!
