NJ QSAC Information
This week, VTSD will be going through the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJ QSAC) process for the very first time. This newly developed monitoring process enables school district's to collaboratively reflect upon both achievement and status in five core areas: Operations, Instruction and Program, Governance, Finance, and Personnel. A team of Board of Education Members, Administrators, Teachers, and Staff will assist the Superintendent in evaluating the district in each core area. Using a district performance review (DPR) rubric, the NJ QSAC team will determine the amount of points gained in order to identify areas of both strength and challenges. In using a system of this nature, we gain a valuable insight into perception of the Vernon Township School District in comparison to a totally objective standard of measure.one which is comprehensive and detailed in nature. Then, the Executive County Superintendent of Schools will spend the duration of an entire school day (or two) in Vernon and review our self-assessment. She will then report her findings to our NJ QSAC Governance Team, complete with a list of commendations and a series of recommendations for us to consider as a part of our own plan for improvement. If you would like to learn more about the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum process, please visit: http://www.state.nj.us/education/genfo/qsac/ Once the review is complete and the report is delivered to the district, a detailed summary will be posted on our website for your review. If possible, we also would like to host a community forum or a BOE presentation to discuss the findings of the assessment. Stay tuned for more details. Dr. John B. Alfieri, Superintendent PUBLIC MEETING BOARD MINUTES
