The mission of the Vernon Township School District Transportation Department is to safely transport our students to and from school, activities, and athletic events each day in a respectful and caring environment. To promote student safety and your child’s well-being, please assist us with teaching your child the bus stop and bus rider rules and responsibilities so that our most precious cargo is transported safely each and every day.
State law states that a student is to be assigned “one” bus to and from their residence. A student can only have one bus/bus stop for consistent (5 days) pick up and drop off.
Students may only ride the bus to which they are assigned. Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up from school if you are unable to receive them. Be sure to plan in advance for early dismissals.
No pupil shall be allowed to enter/leave the bus at any place other than their regularly assigned bus stop without written consent from the transportation office, as requested in writing by a parent.
School buses are routed in the most efficient and safe manner consistent with NJ State law and School Board policy.
